If you want to save time whilst engaging as many young people as possible, you can set up an automated feed between your TalentPortal account and company twitter page. This feed automatically posts one of your new vacancies onto your twitter account every day (though this can be adapted).
It has proven to increase applications by 8%! Why not get your colleague who manages your company twitter account to help with this one and make sure you have administrator and marketing management roles allocated to your user before you get going! Not an administrator or marketing manager? Your admin colleague can help. Learn how here!
So to set this up, access your administration tab and go to marketing manager, then twitter feed. This is where you need to input the codes to set up the feed.
Open another tab and go to apps.twitter.com select create new app. Complete this form, remember, the website is your organisation site and leave call back url blank. Agree to their terms and conditions and create the application.
Here, you need to make a note of or copy the Consumer key and secret. Then scroll down to create your access token . Again, copy or make a note of your access token and secret as you can now paste them into the Talent portal twitter setup page.
You need to also add in your companies twitter handle (Twitter username) and select TRUE for twitter active.
Keep max jobs at 100 to ensure the feed has the largest selection of new vacancies on your account and save settings.
This page helps you check your feed is working. if you ever notice a red cross, this means the vacancy could not be sent to twitter- due to twitters character restrictions, it could be due to a long job title or employer name.
